Day 01: Arrival at Chennai
On your arrival at Chennai our representatives will welcome you warmly at the Chennai International Airport and will assist you further.

Day 02: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram / 150 Km - 04 Hrs Drive
Drive towards Mahabalipuram and en route take a break at Kanchipuram and visit Kamakshi Amman temple, and Vaikuntha Perumal temple. Have a goodnight's rest at Mahabalipuram.

Day 03: Mahabalipuram
Dance Festival (December/ January only) Visit Mahabalipuram Temple, Shore Temple, and five Rathas at Mahabalipuram. Dances such as Bharatanatyam, Odissi, Kuchipudi, and Kathakali will be performed during the festival season.

Day 04: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry - Chidambaram / 190 Km - 4 Hrs
Drive towards Chidambaram and visit Aurobindo Ashram, and Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Day 05: Chidambaram - Gangaikondacholapuram -Darasuram - Trichy / 200 Km -05 Hrs
Drive towards Trichy and en route visit Natarajar Temple, Gangaikondacholapuram Temple, Brihadeeswarar temple and Airavateshwara temple. Later reach Trichy and visit Chola temple, Rock Fort temple for its ancient sculptures and beautiful art pieces.

Day 06: Trichy - Tanjore [Bhoghi Festival) / 65 Km - 01 Hr (falls on 13 0r 14 January every year)
Drive towards Tanjore and in between visit Sri Ranganatha Swamy temple, Brihadeeswarar temple, Royal Palace, Durbar Hall, and Raja Raja Museum. Bhoghi is celebrated everywhere in India for four days where people burn the rugs and other redundant things of their households. The festival (Pongal festival) symbolizes new life for the Tamil people. The main deity is Lord Indran, the God of Clouds and Rain. Traditional rituals and celebrations of the festivals vary to some extent from one place to another.

Day 07: Tanjore - Karaikudi / 100 Km - 02 Hrs Drive (Pongal)
Travel towards Karaikudi where Pongal is celebrated with all sort of excitements. It is the "Harvest and Thanks Giving Festival" for the Sun God. People wear new clothes and use fresh mud pots and sugarcane delicacies for the festival.

Day 08: Karaikudi - Madurai / 100 Km - 02 Hrs Drive (Mattu (Cow) Pongal)
Drive towards Madurai and take part in Mattu Pongal (or Cow Pongal) festival and spend the day in understanding the rituals and festivities. Matttu Pongal is celebrated as thanks giving festival to cows for their great help in ploughing the land and irrigation. At noon watch the traditional and spectacular "Jalli Kattu" or the Bull Taming show at Alanganallur.

Day 09: Madurai - Rameshwaram {Kaanum Pongal) / 180 Kms - 04 Hrs
Drive towards Rameswaram and visit Ramanathaswamy temple, and Pamban Bridge.

Day 10: Rameshwaram (Kaanum Pongal)
On the last day of Pongal events, Kaanum Pongal is celebrated to respect ancestors and aged persons. Young people will receive blessings from the older generation and they give them sweets or money in return.

Day 11: Rameshwaram - Madurai / 180 Km - 03 Hrs Drive
Drive back to Madurai and visit the Meenakshi Sundareshwara temple, and Thirumalai Nayak palace.

Day 12: Madurai (Float Festival) -during January on a full moon day
Enjoy Float Festival at the Mariamman Teppakulam Tank where Goddess Meenakshi will be dressed in precious jewelry.

Day 13: Madurai - Palani (Thai Poosam) (Jan/ Feb)/ 130 Km - 03 Hrs
Drive towards Palani and visit the Palani Dhandayuthabani temple and enjoy witnessing "Thai Poosam" festival.

Day 14: Palani - Periyar /190 Km- 04-05 Hrs
Drive towards Periyar and visit the Periyar National Park and enjoy trekking. Evening do a little shopping.

Day 15: Periyar - Alleppey / 180 Km - 4 Hrs Drive
Drive towards Alleppey and check-in at the Kettuvallam houseboat. Relax yourself and have a great day. Houseboat crew.

Day 16: Alleppey - Kochi / 75 Km - 02 Hrs Drive
Visit India's first European church viz. the St. Francis church, Jewish Synagogue, and Mattancherry Palace. Evening visit Chinese fishing nets and also witness iconic dance form of Kerala, the "Kathakali".

Day 17: Alleppey - Kochi / 75 Km - 02 Hrs Drive
Depending upon your flight schedule we will drop you at the airport/railway station.
